Hello, this session shows the result of synthesizing the articles from the previous blog.
Writing, which is one of the most important language skill, is an essential skill need to be developed by learners since it enables them to express their thoughts, ideas, opinions, and feelings into words. It also helps someone to gain confidence, fluency, comprehensibility, and the most important is creativity. If learners have mastered this skill, they will be able to pour what they think into words in order to they cannot only read what they have written, but also other speakers of that language can read and understand the meaning and the aim of the writing. There are some skills which are expected need to be mastered by the learners so at they be able to comprehend this writing skill, 1) Confidence is the ability which have function in learners’ thinking are without depending on another’s help; 2) Fluency is a skill that recognizing learners’ writing quickly and learners’ knowledge for writing term such as the choice diction of words, punctuation usage, letter shapes usage, etc.; 3) Comprehensibility means the learners’ understanding of the message or information of the writing easily, expressively, even smoothly; and 4) Creativity for writing includes the ability to write freely anything as much as possible that learners’ want to write.
Moreover, to develop and to improve learners’ writing skill, there are various methods which can be implemented to help leaners improve their competence exploration in learning writing. Educators able to use any kinds of techniques such as using a four-phase technique, free writing technique, playful and serious technique, etc. even they can create any interesting techniques which can be adapted by the situation, condition, any other aspects. Educators need to understand the situation surround learning activity before they implemented any techniques because they cannot be forced anything in the learning activity. They have to be able create as can as possible comfortable situation for learners. In case, the situation caused the learning activity. If the situation is adequate and the educators use the adjusted technique thus the teaching and learning activities capable run effectively.
However, the numbers of problem still cannot be avoided. First, educators still use a conventional stuff in-class activity for almost the whole learning session which caused learners bored and not pays attention to educators even the material. Second, some of the learners do not like the complexity in English subject and it made learning process do not run effectively. Third, the topic maybe not interesting for learners thus they were struggling to produce their writing even a simple text term. Least, educators don’t use any interactive media in supporting and making learners creative and innovative in learning process.
In short, writing skill is an activity that every human do in daily life. Started from manual writing, using hand to write something, to automatic writing, using a voice recorder to get the written form. Regardless of the media usage and the length of the writing, the thing that needs to be paid attention is the cohesion and the coherence from the writing itself, in order to produce a good writing that the information delivered effectively and the idea understood logically by readers. For educators today should be able to be implemented the best method and technique to provide new and fresh learning process.
